Navigate to OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. Start VMware Workstation, I’m using the newly released Workstation 9 here as an example. Your VMware Workstation will now recognize Mac as a new OS. After you have successfully unlocked Mac OS X Operating System.

Mountain Lion 10.8.5 Hackintosh Update To 10
So far it has been no boot. My position is further complicated by the burden of having to deal with Core Storage (Fusion Drive and encrypted Time Machine) which requires several things copying from the logical volumes to the hidden boot partitions of every physical partition just to attempt a boot. The answer is binary: boot or no boot. Without backups, I can no longer risk experimenting with another 10.8.5 update. For the moment I am stuck and not in a safe place. When there is more shared knowledge available for Haswell-based systems, I will go the extra mile and try the whole lot again. As a result of that, my encrypted Time Machine drive refuses to recognise its password (it does when I boot from USB!!!) so I have lost easy access to backups. I did a partial restore - system folder only. Let us just have Mac OS XI with parallel functional programming now.As a result of carefully following the instructions to update to 10.8.5 I could no longer boot.
